Open to all artists, world-wide.

All mediums and styles are acceptable.

(2-d and 3-d media, currently not accepting video submissions, work must be documented and submitted in jpg/jpeg form).

The theme for this competition is “Ephemeral Now”; works in all styles, media, subjects are acceptable.

The Deadline for submissions is January 23, 2025.

Awards

Award winners will have complete freedom to use their prize money as they see fit. The number of art pieces submitted, and their overall quality will determine the prize amounts awarded.

It is free to submit work. Only those accepted as finalists must pay the $35 finalist fee. Finalists will have their work exhibited in the online gallery on BlueSpaceGallery.com and will move on to the final round of jurying in consideration for cash awards and honors.

EARLY ENTRY: January 6, 2025

Early entry is recommended; all applications received on or before January 6, 2025, will be automatically shortlisted as finalists, be exhibited in the online exhibition, and move on to the final round of jurying to be considered for awards.

THEME:

Ephemeral Now invites artists to celebrate the fleeting moments of life that captivate us with their impermanence. This theme calls for works that reflect the transitory nature of beauty, from the delicate bloom of a flower to the changing colors of a sunset, the passing of seasons, or the intangible emotions of a brief yet powerful encounter. Artists are encouraged to explore how impermanence can heighten the significance of these moments, transforming them into lasting memories and evoking a sense of wonder and poignancy.

Through this theme, participants can capture the essence of beauty that exists in the here and now, urging viewers to pause and appreciate the world’s transient treasures. Whether through natural forms, human connections, or abstract interpretations, Ephemeral Now celebrates the artistry in cherishing what is temporary yet deeply meaningful. This competition seeks to honor the delicate balance between holding on and letting go, revealing the profound impact of life’s most fleeting and fragile moments.
